In my last post I promised interiors. I’m still working on things, in other words this is a work in progress, here’s an interior. Sitting at the dinning room table looking across into the kitchen. The rendering took about 28 hours to render. There are a lot of lights and glass in this view of the model so calculation time is very long. Most of the modeling was done in ArchiCAD and the rendering was done in Cinema 4D.
Here’s an update to the heavy timber project I posted a while back. We are still working on this and I hope to have some interiors soon. We’ll have to see how things go. I’m modeling this in ArchiCAD and then doing the final renderings in Cinema 4D. There’s a few things that are easier for me in C4D. Like landscape and water and etc. Somehow all the materials look better also, that could just be me. Since I’ve been using C4D for a number of years I have a pretty good collection of materials, landscape and all.
One of my favorite media for construction of any kind is Stone and Heavy Timber, but I especially like using it in residential applications. I’ve put in enough time to get some massing models rendered. I’m not showing materials and not very much fenestration yet, but you can get a good idea of the basic shape of things.
I’ve been busy and haven’t updated or posted to the web site lately, so here it is. I’ve been working on this one for a while. I’m pretty happy with the progress. There a four renderings showing the whole structure. Let me know what you think. Modeled in ArchiCAD and rendered in Artlantis.
It’s been a while since I posted here so I thought share something I’m currently working on. I’m calling this County Living – though it’s not necessarily made for that. It’s feels a bit like county charm.
This also gives me an opportunity to play with ArchiCAD’s new Cinerender engine which has a nice little feature that lets you render in white giving the model a mass model feel with out a lot of detail.
This is a walk past the front of the house with the clouds and sun animated. Pretty fun. It took my computer 24 hours to render this 30 second clip.
Here’s a rendering I did last night of the Metro Park building. I did this project with Allen-Millo Architects in Salt Lake City. The project has never been built and I don’t know if it ever will be. I did this project in my favorite BIM tool – ArchiCAD, and rendered it in Artlantis. It was a pretty interesting multi-use project with a mix of retail, office and residential spaces and had a green roof which was accessible from the residential units on the top floor of the building. If memory serves I worked on this in 2006. I’ll mention also that I rendered this using the Maxwell Render Engine.
